The L4 G24 is one of the most universal mounts in the Wilcox line because it does not require a proprietary shroud. It does, however, retain the sought-after breakaway feature found on other Wilcox models. The breakaway feature allows the operator to preset the mount for a secure lock with the shroud or to allow it to break away under stress so as to prevent injury. Activities that could cause entanglement such as rappelling and fast roping or high speed operations where the NVG can bang into objects are a leading cause in neck and head injury to soldiers. The ability of the G24 to break free of the shroud under these conditions protects the user’s body and the NVG from severe injury or damage.The Wilcox L4 G24 is a features all the same adjustability features as the rest of the Wilcox line. 
Another great feature of the Wilcox L4 G24 is that it cantilevers the NVG out in front of your head instead of over it (like the standard issue mounts). To the OP, if you have ever tried a PVS-21 you will NEVER go back to a single or standard dual tube monoc system ever again. The 21's are something VERY special and the capabilities are incredible. I know, it's all I have been using for the last few years .  I do wish they were a bit less expensive, but the price of this technology drives this price and I cannot say enough how effective these systems are in all lighting conditions.  When you think of NODs (Night Observing Device) you think of a short tube that sticks out about 4.5″ from your face. In most cases they are like a scope, light enters in through the objective lens and in a straight line, shines out the back through the eyepiece and out the eyepiece into your eye. How to Play the Airsoft Game at Night

Have you ever played airsoft at night, pitch black, no lights other than flashlights and lasers? I played a game at pitch black except for the moonlight. Me and my bud were laying in the middle of a field with small bushes then suddenly a small patrol of 2 walk RIGHT by us with flashlights but they didn't see us. I simply nod my head at my teammate and we slowly emerge behind them, put their pistols to their back, and cover their mouths for the kill. It was glorious. Soon after, their final team mate comes back and while my firesquad buddy pins him down behind a tree, I make my way around in the darkness and get him with a single pistol shot. Moral of the story: Flashlights and Lasers aren't needed to play night games. Stealth is a major factor in night games.
